Love Jesus Deeply, Follow Jesus Closely

The heartbeat of Grace Church student ministry is for students grades 7-12 to desire together, as 2 Timothy 2:22 says, to "Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart."

Perfect righteousness, true faith, unwavering love, divine peace, and holy purity find their true manifestation in Jesus Christ, and the only way to pursue such things is by way of a transformed heart through repentance and belief in Jesus and his finished work on the cross. So, with a bigger picture of Jesus' love in the gospel, and an understanding of the way to follow him, we believe students can begin to pursue a Christ-like life as they mature into young men and women of God in the church.

Family Discipleship

We believe that the most effective way to help students love and follow Jesus is by seeing it modeled in the home. Family discipleship happens in the day to day, as parents take the lead. We want to partner with parents in this effort by providing helpful resources and keeping them updated on what your students are learning in our ministry. We encourage all youth aged children to find a way to be involved in the life of their community group and to assist parents in their service to the church. For young men and women who are baptized members of the church, more independent service and leadership opportunities are available.

Youth Equipping

Our students currently meet every Sunday at 9am in the office for an equipping class focused on exposition of Scripture and application. Come and join us!

DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS

One way we help students love and follow Jesus is through small group discipleship. These groups are same gender and age group, led by elder-approved and trained leaders, and meet once a week or every other week to study the Bible or a theological topic, build intentional relationships, ask honest questions, and provide an avenue for students to live on mission in their schools and relationships. Contact buck@gracewaco.com if you would like your student to be involved, or if you are interested in serving as a discipleship mentor.

Want to get your student connected to discipleship?

We have a small student ministry focused on small group discipleship. If you’d like to get your student involved or volunteer to lead a student group, contact Oliver Gordon.
